Tomato

Seven new tomato varieties of the industrial type were created. Potential yields under the non-irrigated conditions are 35-40 t/ha, and 80-120 t/ha under the irrigated ones with dry matter content 7.2 and 5.6%, respectively. The varieties are not worse than foreign ones in productivity, but they are muvh more better in quality: Inguletskiy, Kimmeriets, Kumach, Legin, Naddniprianskiy-1, Sarmat, Taim.

The varieties are recommended to be cultivated in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe Zones of Ukraine. 

 

Inguletskiy (Tomato Solanum lycopersicum L.)

The middle-ripening variety.

The fruits are elliptical with mass about 85-100 g, red and tight when ripened.

The content in the fruits of: dissoluble dry matter is 5.5-5.9%, sugars – 3.2-3.9%, ascorbic acid – 21.8-23.2 mg-%, acidity – 0.44-0.46%.

The period of vegetation is 112-117 days.

Yields. 60-75 t/ha with irrigation, 32-38 t/ha with no irrigation applied.

The variety is comparatively resistant to Alternaria and Phytophthora infestation.

The transportability and longevity while storing are good. The variety is suitable for combine harvesting. The variety of the universal use.

 

Kimmerijets (Tomato Solanum lycopersicum L.)

The middle-early-ripening variety.

The fruits are pear-shaped with mass about 50-60 g, red and tight when ripened.

The content in the fruits of: dissoluble dry matter is 5.5-6.0%, sugars – 3.0-3.8%, ascorbic acid – 21.5-22.4 mg-%, acidity – 0.39-0.42%.

The period of vegetation is 104-108 days.

Yields. 60-70 t/ha with irrigation, 30-37 t/ha with no irrigation applied.

The variety is resistant to common diseases.

The transportability and longevity while storing are good. The variety is suitable for combine harvesting. The variety is recommended for fruits conservation and processing.

 

Kumach (Tomato Solanum lycopersicum L.)

The middle-early-ripening variety.

The fruits are oval with mass about 65-75 g, red and tight when ripened.

The content in the fruits of: dissoluble dry matter is 5.6-6.0%, sugars – 3.3-3.5%, ascorbic acid – 21.6-22.5 mg-%, acidity – 0.42-0.45%.

The period of vegetation is 112-116 days.

Yields. 68-78 t/ha with irrigation, 36-38 t/ha with no irrigation applied.

The variety is comparatively resistant to Alternaria and Phytophthora infestation.

The plants height is 60-65 cm.

The transportability and longevity while storing are good. The marketable fruits output is 85-90%. The variety is suitable for combine harvesting. The variety of the universal use.

 

Legin (Tomato Solanum lycopersicum L.)

The middle-early-ripening variety.

The fruits are elliptical with mass about 65-70 g, red and tight when ripened.

The content in the fruits of: dissoluble dry matter is 5.6-5.9%, sugars – 3.2-3.5%, ascorbic acid – 21.5-22.5 mg-%, acidity – 0.44-0.48%.

The period of vegetation is 110 days.

Naddniprianskiy-1 (Tomato Solanum lycopersicum L.)

The middle-early-ripening variety.

The fruits are egg-shaped with mass about 60-75 g, red and tight when ripened.

The content in the fruits of: dissoluble dry matter is 5.6-6.2%, sugars – 3.4-4.0%, ascorbic acid – 22.2-23.2 mg-%, acidity – 0.38-0.42%.

The period of vegetation is 105-109 days.

Yields. 65-75 t/ha with irrigation, 30-35 t/ha with no irrigation applied.

The variety is comparatively resistant to Alternaria and Phytophthora infestation.

The plants height is 55-70 cm.

The transportability and longevity while storing are good. The variety is suitable for combine harvesting. The variety of the universal use. Taste qualities of the fresh fruits scored 5 points.

 

Sarmat (Tomato Solanum lycopersicum L.)

The middle-ripening variety.

The fruits are angular with mass about 100-120 g, red and tight when ripened.

The content in the fruits of: dissoluble dry matter is 5.6-6.0%, sugars – 3.2-3.8%, ascorbic acid – 21.9-23.7 mg-%, acidity – 0.43-0.45%.

The period of vegetation is 111-115 days.

Yields. 60-78 t/ha with irrigation, 30-36 t/ha with no irrigation applied.

The variety is comparatively resistant to Alternaria and Phytophthora infestation.

The plants height is 60-65 cm.

Taim (Tomato Solanum lycopersicum L.)

The middle-early-ripening variety.

The fruits are rounded with 3-4 cameras, elliptical, 75-85 g in mass, moderate tight, red, green spot near the peduncle disappear with ripeness, peduncle has no knee.

The content in the fruits of: dissoluble dry matter is 5.6-5.8%, sugars – 3.1-3.9%, ascorbic acid – 21.3-23.7 mg-%.

The period of vegetation is 105-108 days.
